They say you eat with the eyes first – and nobody knows this better than a food stylist! Samantha Linsell is based in Cape Town where she works as a professional recipe developer, food stylist and photographer. Passionate about all things food, she is contstantly creating recipes and images which she shares on her award winning food blog Drizzle and Dip.
Sam loves being involved in the whole process of creating the image – from conceptualising the ingredients to styling and shooting the finished dish. She also enjoys shooting restaurants and people working around food, and tries to tell a visual story through her work. She is a one-stop shop for recipe and visual food content and has been commissioned by various magazines and digital publications. Sam also recently wrote, styled and photographed her first cookbook, Drizzle & Dip – Morning, Noon Night.
Sam has twice previously presented at the Indaba and this year we are honoured to welcome her back in 2014 as part of the “Blog to book to new career” panel discussion, together with Jane-Anne Hobbs of Scrumptious and Ilse Van der Merwe of The Food Fox. The discussion will include everything you ever wanted to know about using your blog as a springboard to launch a book or even an entirely new freelance career. Keep up with Sam’s blog here or check out her portfolio here. You can also followher on the Drizzle and Dip Facebook page, on Pinterest, or on Instagram.
And if the prospect of hearing Sam speak has not yet persuaded you to attend, have you seen our funky venue? And have you heard that we will be auctioning off some truly amazing prizes in a charity auction to raise funds for the South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind, our chosen charity for 2014?
