Meet the speakers: Paul Raphaely

Paul Raphaely

Every ship needs a captain; every orchestra needs a conductor; and every circus needs a ringmaster. It’s all fine and well for the Indaba organisers to find you the best speakers in town and put together a stimulating agenda.  But on the day of the Indaba, we would be lost without our master of ceremonies, our compére, our host and resident sheepdog all rolled into one: entrepreneur, brandbuilder and Head-Budgie, Paul Raphaely.

Until recently, Paul will probably be best known for the work he has done in carving out and creating the NoMU brand literally out of thin air. As an acknowledged and experienced thought-leader and public speaker on the notion of ‘Entrepreneurial Brandbuilding,’ Paul delivers talks and participates in discussions at several of South Africa’s leading universities and business schools.  He has also appeared on television as a business coach. By using well-developed and well-managed relationships with bloggers, media and brand owners, Paul works and coaches according to a very simple mantra: ‘If you aren’t breaking through the clutter, you are just adding to it.’

The start of 2014 has seen Paul step away from the day-to-day business activities of NoMU to create ‘The Lucky Budgie’ – a very exciting new showcase and celebration space, exclusively highlighting, and ultimately rewarding, the very best curated packaging and design in Southern Africa. We are thrilled to have such an experienced and entertaining compére return to the Indaba for a second year in a row – you know we’ll be in safe hamds!

Learn more about how you can showcase your innovative pagkaging and design on The Lucky Budgie website, follow The Lucky Budgie on Twitter, or get in touch with Paul via e-mail.

And if the prospect of hearing the Talented Mr Raphaely has not yet persuaded you to attend, have you seen our funky venue?  And have you heard that we will be auctioning off some truly amazing prizes in a charity auction to raise funds for the South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind, our chosen charity for 2014?  Want to buy a ticket? Click here to register now. See you at the Indaba!

If you’d like a nifty Indaba badge to display in your sidebar, please e-mail Colleen or Jeanne and we will send you the code!
