Greetings! Yes, it’s been a while since there was any activity here – our apologies for that, but sometimes life gets in the way. Rest assured, though, that we have not been idle behind the scenes! After our difficult decision not to hold an Indaba in 2013, we immediately set to work planning the 2014 Indaba, kicking off with a survey in which we asked YOU for your input so that we can give you the Indaba you really want. This was followed by a whirl of hotels and conference facilities and whittling the list down according to our requirements and budget.
And so, ladies and gentlemen; food and wine bloggers; wannabe bloggers; social media followers; food and drink companies; media companies; and all interested parties – we are pleased to announce that we have now settled on both a date and a venue for the 2014 Indaba! The conference will be taking place in Cape Town on Saturday 22 February 2014 from 08h00 until 18h00. And wait till you see the venue we have lined up for you: as the song says we’re going downtown to the swanky Upper Eastside Hotel, part of the international Doubletree by Hilton chain. Overlooking the busy Cape Town harbor and with an impressive backdrop of the green slopes of Devil’s Peak, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cape Town Upper Eastside offers easy access to the vibrant downtown area and Cape Town International Airport is just 15 minutes away. And rumour has it they do a great signature chocolate chip cookie!

A morning plenary session with talks and presentations from leading food bloggers and media professionals will be followed by lunch and an afternoon of hands-on workshops – with plenty of time to socialise and network of course! We have now collated the results of our survey asking you what topics you wanted to see at the 2014 Indaba and we are hard at work putting together an agenda. As soon as the agenda and ticket prices have been finalised, you will be the first to know! To make sure that you don’t miss any announcements, make sure you follow us on WordPress, follow us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
If you work for or know of a food or media related company who would enjoy the prestige and exposure of being associated with South Africa’s leading blogger conference, please do get in touch with us – we have a number of sponsorship packages available, from full name sponsorship of the conference, to sponsored products for goodie bags or one-off prize giveaways.
We look forward to seeing you at the 2014 Indaba!
