You cannot imagine how much pleasure it gives me to finally be writing this blog post…..a LONG time in coming…..but so worth it! I apologize for the long wait, I have been struggling after having endured two lots of reconstructive surgery which is not over yet so the whole Indaba has had to be scheduled in between my surgery schedule for the year!
Thank you to those many readers who filled in the survey form, enabling us to hear what YOU want and to make changes and plans wherever possible to accommodate your wishes.
I am finally here to announce that the next South African Food and Wine Blogger Indaba will be taking place on Sunday 24 June 2012. Please don’t go to the booking page yet and try to book as it has not been activated yet for this year. It still has last years information on it.

I am busy thrashing out an agenda, topics that will interest you all, speakers and other stuff to bring you an event that is much bigger and better than ever before…and of course that includes sponsors for the event, goodie bags and prizes. I am trying very hard to include some awesome new workshops as well as some similar to those that we had last year including writing and photography and food styling. Would a hands on workshop in the cookery school kitchen interest you? Would food dems and talks in the demonstration kitchen be of interest to foodies? I am so sure they would! Well, I am trying to get this organized for this years Indaba and as soon as I have more to announce on that front I will be back to tell you!
Confirmed speakers this year already include Jeanne Horak-Druiff (aka old Indaba friend and the lovely Cooksister!) who will jet in from London for the event and Sarah Graham, food blogger A Foodie Lives Here and published cook book author of the cook book “Bitten” who hails these days from Johannesburg. I will profile each of the speakers in the coming weeks.
Taste of Cape Town is another old friend of the Indaba and have once again joined the list of sponsors and I am giving away, on this post, two lots of double tickets to the Taste of Cape Town that is happening 19-22 April at Green Point Cricket Oval! All you have to do to stand in line to win these is to leave a comment on this post. The first two commentors from Cape Town will win the tickets. This is an awesome event that showcases 14 of Cape Town’s top restaurants and you can nibble your way through all the delicious little bites that they prepare for the event. The prize is for entry only and does not include the booklet of crowns that are required to pay for your chosen meals.
As soon as I have finalized costing of all expenses I will announce the price of tickets and the ticket sales will open. Please be aware that there is limited seating as the auditorium (yes there is an auditorium this year :) ) only has a maximum of 130 seats.
So don’t wait till the last minute to book. You will surely be disappointed!
